This CGDI blog offers guidelines on how to copy BMW MEVD17.2.5 N13 ISN using CG FC200 ecu programmer.
Procedures:
1: Backing up Original ECU Data
Initiate CGDI FC200 software.
Navigate through: BMW – 3 Series (F30) – BOSCH MEVD17.2.5 TC1797_N13 – 316i N13B16A 136
Set up FC200 ECU programmer and MEVD17.2.5 DME N13 Engine as per the software’s wiring diagram.
Successfully identify the ECU info.
Your original ISN should display as B27575E0EA53FD4F0DE0A4216C04A6D
Sequentially read DFLASH and PFLASH data and make sure to backup these files.
Upload the file to Fiardell HexCmp as shown below
2: Backing up New ECU Data
Return to CG FC200 software’s main interface
Identify the new ECU information and read its ISN
This should read as 570298EC43DD022648E3224F481DE6CB
Copy this ISN into a new notepad.
Read and save the DFLASH and PFLASH data once again.
3: Writing PFLASH
Select ‘Write PFLASH.’
A warning will appear regarding overwriting original ECU data. Confirm the data is backed up before proceeding.
Open and verify the original PFLASH file.
If a mismatch occurs, an error message will appear. In such cases, click ‘Yes’ to proceed.
Ensure a stable network connection and wait for the process to complete.
On completion, verify the file.
Execute the erase and write data commands.
Read the ISN again; it should now display as B27575E0EA53FD4F0DE0A4216C04A6D, which matches the original.
Read and create backups of DFlash and PFlash data.
4: Confirming the ECU Data
In conclusion, compare the original and the copied files using Fiardell HexCmp. Both files should be identical.
